Healthy relationships require effective communication, trust, and a shared commitment to growth.
Our couples therapy sessions are designed to help you and your partner(s):
Improve communication to address concerns such as intimacy, parenting, household responsibilities, finances, and conflict management.
Break free from unproductive patterns like criticism, blaming, and defensiveness.
Build deeper intimacy and connection through shared understanding and collaboration.
How It Works
Couples therapy is an experiential process. This means we focus on the dynamics happening in the room during the session to better understand and address the challenges in your relationship.
In therapy, the primary focus is the relationship itself, not any specific individual. Each partner contributes to the relationship's patterns, and progress comes as each person takes responsibility for their own role and emotions rather than blaming their partner.
Our Approach
-
Therapy works best when all partners speak honestly, express their needs, and actively work to understand and meet each other’s needs. Sessions often end with agreements on actionable steps each partner will take to support the health of the relationship.
-
A strong partnership between you and your therapist is essential for success. If you have concerns about the therapy process, we encourage open discussion in session.
-
We often explore topics related to sexuality, eroticism, and intimacy in our sessions. You are always empowered to set boundaries, ask for clarification, or pause conversations as needed.
-
If there are concerns about abuse, violence, or other safety issues, therapy will be paused, and referrals to additional resources will be provided.
